Carabinieri

A line of Carabinieri awaiting possible danger from the mass manifestazione of Communists and anti-war groups in Roma back in March. While I am not positive I do recall hearing there were a few clashes. The protestors are not in the photo as these Carabinieri are waiting for them to come in that direction. Looking back at this photo it does seem as if their threat is the tourists, an intresting take but not my intent.

The Carabinieri are military police for the country of Italia. They work both abroad and at home.

While many jokes exist of the stupidity of those who serve the reality is they are a brave lot with an impressive history. They protect the people of their country as well as visitors and tourists and are very helpful.
